About Star Assessments
The Skate Canada StarSkaters program offers skaters the opportunity to develop basic skating skills in three different disciplines: Skills, Freeskate (elements and programs), and Dance.
STAR 1-5 covers the learn to train stage of development and provides a solid pathway to the learn to compete stage that follows. There are 23 assessments in the STAR 1-5 program. Skaters will know if they passed their assessment(s) immediately after an assessment is complete. Our club and coaches encourage a fun environment, and assess your child when they feel your child is ready to advance.
Silver Jets Skating Club has a responsibility to adhere to the rules outlined in the Skate Canada Rule Book. To learn more of the rules: STAR Assessments (skatecanada.ca)
When your skater is ready to be assessed, your coach will provide an Assessment Notification. Skaters may be tested on one or more area at a time.
If you have any questions about your skaters progress. Contact your skaters base coach.
Payment
A Skate Canada fee of $12 is required for each test and it must be paid in advance before test day. Test fee payments can be made online. It's fast and easy!

- Provide a payment confirmation to your coach before the test
